Ingram Talley
Jakia Handy is a freelance fashion and accessories designer who currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Handy's debut capsule collection was selected for inclusion in the New York Daily New and Harlem's Fashion Row's Talent Competition for NY Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 as part of the official NYFW schedule in September 2011. The collection attracted attention from numerous high-profile publications including the New York Daily News, Time Out New York, Jones Magazine, blackenterprise.com, Centric TV Network, fashionbombdaily.com, madamenoir.com, NYracked.com, and marcussamullson.com.

A Moore College of Art and Design Alumni she also has undertaken work experience with designers including Tracy Reese, Rachel Roy, and Tia Cibani of Ports 1961. Handy has also worked with celebrity stylists Andrea Lieberman, and GK Reid.

Handy has won a number of awards including Best in Show for her 2008 Senior Thesis Collection and more recently, capitalizing on her growing interest in Fine Arts, she was awarded the opportunity to co-curate fashion exhibition at the Studio Museum Harlem a photography exhibition at the Bill Hodges Gallery on prestigious 57th Street in New York City.
